G Funk
About
“Wow! The band was sensational. You knew how to feel the pulse of the group and had everyone up dancing to your amazing grooves and music.” The G Funk Band got its start at Burlington VT’s Red Square in 1999 when alto saxophonist Dave G gathered some of his favorite musicians together to jam on Monday nights. These humble beginnings led to a string of legendary gigs that served as a funk-style bootcamp where GFB explored the deep cuts of James Brown, Maceo Parker, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder, the Neville Bros. and countless other R&B legends. The GFB horn section toured with Phish back in the 90s as the Big Country Horns. GFB stands today as Vermont’s most powerful funk, R&B, soul unit. A huge favorite for weddings, concerts, and functions where groove, feel, and dance motivation is key.

Just wanted to let you know, that you guys were AWESOME!! I couldn’t have been happier. Also wanted to recognize that I never needed those speakers and the mic, so thank you for putting up with my “bridezilla” requests that you already knew were unnecessary. Our new song is “Fire on the Mountain”! We’ll see you back in BTV one of these days. All the best, ”
